| We got real snow today! Just a couple of inches which isn't impressive by New England or Northwest PA standards, but for here it pretty much counts as a blizzard. Everything at church was canceled tonight and schools dismissed early today. I'm glad because I don't want to out again. Snow here is a many fold problem. 1) they don't plow/salt enough or well enough. (partially understandable since they don't get much snow) 2) People panic in response to any precipitation. (The roads weren't great, but 10mph was a little too cautious!) 3) Other people think that they don't have to be careful at all and still drive 80mph on the highway. The combination of these factors is chaos and lots of accidents.
In other news, my job is going well. I like all my coworkers. I like all my kids although a few can be difficult. I also get to buy Christmas presents for all my kids (the agency pays). So I have $50 to spend on each child, which is a crazy amount! It will be fun to buy toys, especially since I'm not paying! On Monday we have a Christmas open house at our office where the kids can come eat, play games, do crafts, see Santa, and get presents! We've been decorating the office and it's lots of fun! My officemate and I even made an awesome fireplace for the room that Santa is going to be in! (It really is totally awesome!) All in all good times!

| Today was my first day of work! I really think I'm going to like it! Right now I'm just reading manuals and training materials which is boring most of the time, but some of it is interesting. I also have a great office environment and co workers! I share an office with the most recent hire before me (she has been there a month). We even have a window! My boss is nice and funny! Basically, it is the ideal work environment for me. (Ok, from what I've seen/experienced so far, but first impressions are important.) Oh, and I have my new car! It's a 2003 Ford Taurus, and I love it! And Gordon finally mailed me my diploma after many polite requests and one slightly less polite one. (I think I should have started with the less polite request, but oh well it's here now!) So yeah, that's what is happening in my life.

| I got a job! Starting a week from today I will be a foster care case worker for Families United Network! I'm super excited! Which also means I'm getting a car! (I don't like to drive Brad's car.) It also means that we will be staying in the area for at least another year which I'm happy about because I like our church and have begun to feel settled here! I'm most excited to have something worthwhile to do with my time, but the extra money will make life easier for Brad and I as well! Taking a page from Evan's book (or to be specific, xanga): Life is Good, the universe is Good, God is Good! Yay!

| I'm sorry I've done such a horrible job of keeping up with so many of you! I really intend to do a better job. | | |
